Get ready to race, cheer, and have some FUN! Here’s everything you need to know before Saturday’s derby:
Registration: Begins at 1:00 PM, immediately followed by FREE vehicle inspection. First Race: Starts at 2:00 PM. Race Order: Ages 1–4 will race first, followed by Ages 5–7, then the Parent Remote-Controlled category.
Trophies: Awarded after each age class/category.
Participation Ribbons: Available while supplies last.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! A limited supply of donated helmets will be available for participants to use while supplies last.
NO MODIFIED BATTERIES: The battery used in the vehicle must be the same model that the vehicle was originally purchased with. No upgraded or modified batteries are permitted.
VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS: Vehicles do not have to be the Power Wheels brand, but they must be plastic-based and battery-powered.
PARENT REMOTE-CONTROLLED CATEGORY: If a parent/adult will be operating the vehicle using a remote control, the vehicle must compete in the separate Parent Remote-Controlled category. Remote-controlled vehicles will not compete in the standard child-operated age categories. RAFFLE: Tickets will be available for a chance to win a NEW RIDE! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Cash and card accepted. You do not have to be present to win!
WHILE YOU WAIT: The length of the event will depend on the number of participants. The GHPRD Recreation Team will have yard games in the field for everyone to enjoy while waiting for races. The playground will also be open and accessible, and Ritter Park Shelter #2 is available if you’d like to pack a picnic.
FREE WATER: GHPRD will have free cold bottled water available for our guests while supplies last.
