It's that time of year again for the Hershey's Track & Field Games, 2008 edition.  The Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District are hosting the District and State Meets again this year at Cabell Midland High School.  Coach Chris Parsons and Coach Matt Lucas will lend their coaching talents once again at the District and State 2008 Meets.

The Hershey's Track & Field Games has been a national event and now a North American event.  Initiated as a playground track and field program in 1975 in Charleston, WV, by Dr. Donald Cohen, Hershey's Track & Field Games has become the largest youth sports program of its kind in North America.  The program was offered on a state-wide level in West Virginia in 1976, became a 10-state regional event in 1977 and offered nationally in 1978.  The games are for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 to promote physical fitness, participation, friendship and sportsmanship.  The Hershey's Track & Field Games are sponsored by The National Recreation and Park Association, USA Track & Field, Athletics Canada and The Hershey Company.

Hershey's Track & Field "District 2" Meet  will be held at Cabell Midland High School at Chris Parsons Track on Tuesday, May 27, 2008.  Registration is from 3:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., with Field & Running Events to follow at 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Hershey's State Meet will be held at Cabell Midland High School on Saturday, June 21, 2008.  Registration is  from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Field Events starting at 5:15 p.m. and Running Events starting at 6:00 p.m.

The 2008 Hershey's North American Final Meet will be in Hershey, PA, on Saturday August 2.
