Harris
Riverfront Park Improvements

The beautiful flower beds
and planters continue to be provided and maintained by Mr. and Mrs.
Howell.
On July 1st, 2009 The Greater
Huntington Park and Recreation District, under an agreement with City
of Huntington, assumed responsibility for the maintenance and
operations of Harris Park. Many visible improvements have been
made to make the park user friendly, in addition to mowing, weed
eating, and constant cleaning.
Commissioners
restore tables...

Table top being removed
by Park Commissioners, Dr. Kenneth Wolfe, Frank Dorsey, and Don
McCroskey.
The
four redwood picnic tables in David W. Harris Park are being restored
by volunteer efforts provided by GHPRD commissioners. The 25 year old
tables had weathered and been initialed by park visitors over the
years.
Tabletops
were removed, sanded, and sealed while some etchings were too deep to
totally eliminate the tabletops today once again exhibit a vibrant
luster. Commissioners expect the bench seats to restored by the end of
the month.

Parking lanes restored.
